Substantial Verbier Property (535 square meters) in the Savoleyres area with unbelievable views of the Swiss alps. This chalet is in fact two chalets that are connected by a large (110 square meter) office space with kitchen. This space could be converted into a gym, games room, study or pool. The smaller of the two chalets which has two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a mezzanine which can sleep 2-4 people is used by the current owners as a holiday rental which gives them a p.a. return of £22'000. The main chalet has an open plan concept with a gorgeous granite top kitchen with all the latest Siemens and Miele appliances in stainless steel. There is a large fire place and spacious dining and living area. The floors are wide plank oak with underfloor heating. There is a master bedroom upstairs with a dressing room and en suite bathroom with an extra large shower. Downstairs, there are 3 guestbedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. There is a two car garage with two storage rooms at the back. There is ample storage through out the chalet.
This chalet is a relative bargain at £8'900 a square meter. I have seen chalets of older construction and in need of a facelift in Verbier at £12'000 a square meter.

There is of course the Lex Koller law in place which is a pain but due to be abolished in three years. The good news is that there are ways around it at the moment. You can buy if you have a B permit. You can apply for a B permit in the Commune de Bagnes (it will cost you) and go through the steps of buying your chalet. In three years time when the B permit comes through you can say you've changed your mind and the chalet is, in the mean time, yours. Prices are cheap right now but as soon as every hedge fund manager figures this one out they'll be blowing their Christmas bonuses on a nice pad in the alps.
Sean Collins, of Pure International, thinks the change could herald price rises and believes there could be gains for buyers who get into the market early. “While it remains to be seen how the abolition of the Lex Koller law will truly impact the market, we certainly anticipate cantons with high numbers of tourist resorts continuing to exploit the benefits of foreign investment,” he says. “Therefore, anyone considering a second home in Switzerland should take advantage of current pricing.”

This place is just so gorgeous!
